Fortaleza is a place weirdly huge and majestic. It's one of the biggest Brazi cities and an economic magnet for people of Ceara and beyond. It's also a magnet for tourists from Brazil and abroad, who come to see the beaches, enjoy the festive atmosphere and thespectacular dunes, hills and fishing villages near Fortaleza. Some of the beaches of the city are amazingly beautiful and the nightlife is vibrant.
The city lies 20 km along the seaside and 10 km in the core of the earth. Centro is the oldest section of the city, a vibrant place full of small stores, where you can wonder around during the day.

Meireles is a beach circling Feirinha de Artesanato (Handcrafts Fair). The area is filled with hotels, restaurrants, small commercial centers and other tourism.
Meireles has a large concentration of Barracas (village type restaurants) at the beach, which serve great food and drinks, but they're smaller than the big Barracas found in Praia do Futuro.

The area is busy most of the day and night. People come to walk and jog early in the morning, to lunch and dine, to buy handcraft goods, souvenirs at the Fair, or to just sit down and enjoy the view.
Part of the Fortaleza Complex, the Oasis, is located in the Beira Mar, across the sea, across the handcraft market of Mereiles Beach. It offers a wide pool, breakfast and free Wi-Fi.
Rooms at the Oasis are air-conditioned, equipped with LCD TV, minibar and private bathrooms. Several have a pool and look at the sea.
Because of the central location of the hotel, guests can very easily explore the Fortaleza beaches and all of its attractions. Such attractions are the theater Teatro José de Alencar, cathedrals, and the Estoril historic building.
